Poem: Tomatoes

Today's prompt: Write a poem and include as many names as you can: people, places, products, genera.

Tomatoes

Happy Mother’s Day they said

As they handed me ten starts

Sprite--small red oval grape

Juliet--heavy yields of sweet, true red

SunSugar--golden yellow/orange cherry

Snow White--ivory colored ripens to pale yellow

Rocky--large with meaty fruit

Belgium--grows to an enormous five pounds

Bull’s Heart--very old Russian variety

Blondkopfchen--heirloom from eastern Germany

Black Plum--elongated plum-shaped fruits

Box Car Willie--good-sized smooth red

I never knew there were so many

Until I put them all to bed
